Interview with Jeremy “Kamikaze” Myers

School of Fight caught up with Jeremy Myers as he vigorously prepares for his television debut as a pro on Saturday,  June 11th.  Jeremy will be fighting at PA Caged Combat’s Valley Fight Series (www.pacagedcombat.com) in Allentown, PA. We asked him a few questions and here’s what he had to say.

SOF-  How do you feel about fighting in your pro television debut?  Are you feeling any pressure or is it just another day in the park for you?

Jeremy- I love the spotlight.  I’m not nervous, just excited.  I can’t wait.

SOF- You stated that you were taking this fight more serious than previous fights. Why is that?

Jeremy- I’m coming off of a loss. I understand how serious that is in this game. You are only as good as your last fight, and I fought like an average fighter which I am not by any means. I have to show the world who i am, and this fight is how I plan on doing it.

SOF- How’s the weight cut going for you?

Jeremy- Just started the cut today. 18 pounds to cut. Brand new process I’ll let you know how it goes.

SOF- What's the first thing you're going to eat after the weight cut?

Jeremy- distilled water, something salty, and of course my trade mark gummy bears!

SOF- I've seen you preparing for this fight doing some crazy stuff like jogging in a gas mask. What else are you doing to prepare for this fight?

Jeremy- Lots of swimming and started lifting.  I have just finally gotten serious about my diet and strength and conditioning program. I figure five fights into my pro career I should maybe start training like a pro.

SOF- Are you satisfied with the direction your career is going?

Jeremy- Honestly, not at all. 3-2 after five fights is not where i wanted to be but after dropping my debut I have done an alright job of bouncing back. But I have revamped my lifestyle and plan on turning this thing around. This is my dream and I don’t want to have to give it up.

SOF- Final question- If you had the opportunity to fight any fighter in the game today who would it be? Why?

Jeremy- Dominick Cruz. He is the best in my weight class and i would love to swing at him. I’d also like to fight Jose Aldo. Because if I’m going to die, I might as well die doing what I love. That guy is the best and he would rip my head off.

SOF- Any shoutouts?

Jeremy- School of Fight! Of course. My longest standing sponsor. Also, Tucker Max, Jessie Villars of Blue Byrd Tattoo and Ranger Up. All the guys at Vision Dayton who help me get better every day.

School of Fight wishes Jeremy Myers the very best this Saturday! You can keep up with Jeremy right here on Facebook at his fan page Jeremy “Kamikaze” Myers also his website www.jeremykamikaze.com, and follow him on Twitter at @JkamikazeM.
